POLAND MARKET

Poland holds the third-highest number of smokers in Europe and is ranked sixth globally in this regard. The latest Eurobarometer, released on Friday, indicates that 33% of Poles are smokers, with only Greece and Bulgaria having higher percentages at 38% and 35%, respectively.

Poland's figures exceed the EU average of 26%, with 45% of Polish men and 25% of Polish women acknowledging that they smoke. Most Polish smokers fall within the 25 to 39 age brackets, followed by the 40 to 54 age group, and then those aged 15 to 24. In Poland, boxed cigarettes are the most popular tobacco product, ahead of hand-rolled cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos, and pipes.

Non-governmental organizations have raised concerns that the Polish state is failing to implement necessary measures to shield its citizens from tobacco smoke, and the enforced smoking ban is not being adhered to. According to 37% of bar-goers in the past six months, smoking indoors was observed, and 22% of restaurant visitors reported the same.

The Polish e-cigarette market is expected to experience a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 23.37% over the next five years.
